The Shop
TLDR: Located in downtown Olympia, the Witch and Dragon studio was created to bring a comfortable, cozy, plant and crystal-filled space into the local tattoo community. With books on the shelves, art on the walls, and a comfy pillow for when a client falls asleep, I strive to ensure that everyone feels safe and at home in the shop.
I spent the first eight years of my tattoo career working in shops and getting the traditional experience alongside many talented artists. During this time I took an unplanned year off to have my first child and deal with Covid-19, moved thousands of miles back and forth between California and Washington TWICE, and had another child, all while trying to keep up with an ever evolving industry. Because of all this I had started to feel less motivated to be creative in my 'free time' which not only hindered my ability to be the best artist for my clients but dampened my spirit. That, in turn, took its toll and I was not being the best mom for my kids which left me in quite the rut. I realized I needed to find, or create, a space that would allow me to feel like "me" again. So, in 2022 I decided to take a chance and open a private studio in downtown Olympia. After many discussions with my husband and with the support of my previous shop owner and the artists there, I found the perfect space to create something that's truly me. Thus Witch and Dragon was born. At Witch and Dragon you can relax with one of the many books I have on the shelves or just put some headphones on and zone out. You will hear many genres of music from synth wave or metal to folksy or trance. You can fall asleep, chat with me, or just stare out at the lake and people watch. You can bring a friend for company and they can relax in a comfy chair while you get your work done. There is artwork, books, Lego sets, candles, crystals, and plants... lots and lots of plants. I strive to create an environment of relaxation, coziness, safety, and overall hominess to ensure your experience getting a tattoo will be one that you remember fondly. One that will hopefully inspire you to come back again and again :).
