Witch and Dragon
The Studio
I started my apprenticeship back in 2014, doing my first tattoo in 2015 and finally being an official tattoo artist in 2017. I moved from the fast-paced, competitive environment of San Diego, CA and have spent most of my tattoo life in shops. While I appreciate those experiences where I was able to grow and learn by being around other artists, getting that "traditional" tattoo education, my life started to go in another direction. I had two little boys, less time to myself, NO time alone, and could barely do art for clients let alone myself. I needed a change.
It's rare to meet a female tattoo artist that can juggle it all successfully and happily (though it's becoming more common and it's such a wonderful direction for this industry!), but that's my goal. I love to tattoo and I love art, but it can't be my entire life now that I have kids and a family, and that is the expectation for so many in the tattoo world: "if it's not your whole life, why are you tattooing?!" Well it is my career but also my escape and I wanted to ensure it stayed special and never felt like a job. I realized that I needed to move out of the shop life and find a way to make it my happy place again. Thus Witch and Dragon was born.
This studio is meant to feel like a home away from home, a cozy cottage that you can be comfortable in, a place you can curl up on a chair and relax. I wanted that not only for myself but for my clients. With lake views, giant privacy windows, plants, books, and a lot of dragons and video game paraphernalia, this studio was curated by me for my diverse, fun, and precious clientele. I can't wait to share it with you!
